You must be an adult (18 years old or over); if you are a child (16 or 17 years old), a responsible adult must accompany you to your appointment. A responsible adult is defined as a person who is of or over the age of 18 years and is your parent, step-parent, legal guardian, grandparent or a person who is acting in place of your parent and who could reasonably be expected to exercise responsible supervision of you. A child is anyone who has not reached the age of 18 years. We cannot scan anyone under the age of 16.
Every scan package with Baby Scan Studio Ashford will perform a well being check of your baby as the first part of your scan. Please be advised we only scan you for long enough to achieve the purpose of your appointment. Our aim is to protect both baby and mother in accordance with guidelines Of BMUS (British Medical Ultrasound Society) guidelines for the safe use of diagnostic ultrasound equipment and we regularly update our procedures based on BMUS guidance.

A reassurance scan is a simple abdominal ultrasound scan that aims to check the progression of your pregnancy. Many expectant mothers find an additional extra scan from the NHS ones to be very useful in reducing stress or anxiety. The scan will check your baby's overall health and reassure you that your pregnancy is developing as expected.
We perform a full well-being check where we check your babies’ heartbeat, organs and the amount of amniotic fluid, your cervix, and placenta position. Any indication as to the well-being of your baby. Our sonographers can also observe the movement and the position of your baby. Important is to note, we do not replace any of your NHS scan appointments and there for, you must attend to all your hospital NHS appointments. Our scans are just
additional scan.
All our scans are done using the latest ultrasound technology which uses an abdominal probe on the surface of your tummy. Ultrasound is a non-intrusive; it relies on sound waves being reflected back into the probe to create an image. This is why we ask you to drink plenty of water before your appointment
